3 Ways I've Grown My Instagram (Organically!) In a Year
With the Instagram algorithm constantly changing, it can be difficult to grow your following on Instagram organically. A lot of the journey to growth is trial and error and figuring out what works for you.
However in (almost!) 2020, it’s essential to have an online presence for your business which is why it’s important to be strategic with when and what you are posting.
I know how tricky it can be to grow your audience, so today I wanted to share with you how I’ve scaled my Instagram audience to 5k+ in the last year, without posting daily and without always being attached to my phone.
Consider creating share-worthy, branded or relatable graphics.
Something that I originally did not foresee helping my growth on Instagram was posting well-designed typography and quote graphics. This wasn’t something that I initially wanted to do with fear of "cluttering up" my feed, but it's helped start important conversations around life and business.
Don’t know where you could start with creating graphics for your Instagram? Consider creating stylized quotes, bits of wisdom or relatable thoughts for your feed that pop into your head during the work week.
Share peeks into your process and how you run your business.
The process of running a creative studio day in and day out is just as important as the end product. Over this past year I've shared consistent behind-the-scenes peeks of what I'm working on on Instagram Stories, which has allowed my audience to see the progress of projects and foster discussions on strategies that go into my work. Your audience wants to know what you're working on, so don't be afraid to share it.
Don’t feel like you have to constantly be posting – really!
I stopped posting daily. I know that this may sound counterintuitive to Instagram growth, but not posting daily has allowed for my content to live in the feed longer thanks to Instagram's algorithm. When it comes to content, quality over quantity is something that is very important to me and my business. Without feeling pressured to post daily, I’ve taken the pressure off to always be posting, which has allowed for more intentional, thoughtful updates
