How to Work With More Purpose in the Office
I don't know about you, but there's nothing more fulfilling than walking out of the office after fantastically productive day! I've found that working with a clear purpose in mind not only amps up my productivity, but it also lends itself to my overall happiness in the office.
I've partnered with Boise Paper – one of my favorite go-tos for printer paper – to share the ways that you can inject more purpose into your workdays, starting today!
Surround Yourself With Positivity.
The condition of my workspace really affects my workflow. If my desk is messy or has any piles of paper at all, I'm immediately overwhelmed and less productive. To combat this, I make a point to keep a tidy workspace that exudes positivity. Art prints, photos of friends and family, quotes and scripture and an up-to-date calendar surround me at all times, making my workspace happy and feeling at-home. It's easy to print off inspirational images on high quality paper, like Boise Paper POLARIS® Multipurpose Paper.
Lend a Helping Hand to Others.
Of course we all have our own workload and priorities to tackle, but in the moments when you don't have a full to-do list, look to others to see how you can help! This has been a great way for me to understand my colleagues' roles in the past, and being able to lend my opinion and skills as a way to give back is extremely fulfilling. What areas are you an expert in? How can you help? The next time you have a slow day, consider these things!
Contribute to your company's charitable partners.
Most corporate – and smaller! – companies will have some sort of charitable tie to them as a way to give back to their local community and beyond. My company currently partners with the March of Dimes, which is so exciting! Get involved in the philanthropic side of your company and seek out ways to serve your colleagues and community. Not only will you become more connecting within your company, but you'll feel great giving back.
