Confession: I don't consider myself particularly athletic. I grew up taking ballet classes rather than kicking around a soccer ball, and struggling to muster a pull-up in middle school PE was what I was notorious for. Now well into my twenties, I know that keeping fit is important – not just for my appearance, but for my overall wellbeing. Sitting at my desk for the majority of my 8+ hour work day definitely isn't doing me any favors, either.
Enter ClassPass, a monthly boutique fitness studio membership that is totally rocking my world. Prior to checking out ClassPass, I had my usual workout jaunts – a mile run in the park near my apartment after work three days a week, daily crunches and planks and maybe a few squats thrown in for fun. I was doing just enough to get by, and keeping my diet healthy.
I love ClassPass because your monthly membership gives you your pick when it comes to fitness – think Pure Barre, SoulCycle, yoga, CrossFit – on any given day of the week! For someone with a fairly short attention span, this sounded like gold.
Over the last month I've spun, stretched and tucked my way through a number of cycling, yoga and barre classes, and I feel great. Another perk? Fitness classes are a great way to connect with others in your city! Denver still feels like completely new terrain to me, so it's great to get out of the house and get active with others.
Overall, I've found that making an effort to keep fit has affected all areas of my life – I feel more focused in the workplace, I have something to look forward to after work, and I'm motivated to keep up the momentum.
