Oh, Atlanta - my home, my heart and my workplace. After yearning to live in New York City for several years, fate directed me to the heart of Atlanta, where I've worked and played for the last year. I love this city for numerous reasons, but the biggest reason is definitely the overwhelming amount of professional opportunities that the city provides. For up-and-coming PR pros, Atlanta is bursting at the seams with agencies of all sizes - boutique, mid-size and corporate alike. Being a boutique PR internship alumnus myself, I'm partial to working with fun, creative lifestyle brands. If you're moving to Atlanta or currently live in the city, check out my top PR picks below:
Okay, okay - disclaimer: I'm more than a little partial to the CWPR crew. But after interning with the boutique agency last summer, I can't stop singing praises. CWPR works with an impressive and robust roster of lifestyle, entertainment and event-based clients, and has recently expanded their roster to include two adorable boutiques that I love - Winter Wren and 310 Rosemont. Did I mention that the team also works with tons of amazing restaurants? STK Atlanta, Cucina Asellina, D.B.A. Barbecue and Genki Noodles & Sushi - just to name a delicious few. Lucky for you, CWPR is seeking social media interns for the summer! Want to learn more? Check out their Facebook page for more info.
Another lifestyle public relations firm, BRAVE PR works with both regional and national clients. And the agency certainly knows Atlanta - their client roster boasts the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Lenox Square Mall, Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre and Atlanta Magazine, among several others. BRAVE is also always seeking bright and talented interns to join their PR team - learn more about how you can apply here!
I first became acquainted with Liz Lapidus PR when the boutique agency's founder came to chat with my senior public relations campaigns class about the Atlanta industry last March. Soon after, I set up a morning to shadow at the agency and spent the day in their adorable Inman Park office learning the tricks of the trade and even generating social media content for one of their clients, Julie Bee's! Liz Lapidus PR primarily works with upscale retail, hospitality, real estate and arts brands. If swanky see-and-be-seen events are your thing, you'll certainly want to check out Liz Lapidus and her talented press team.
Another PR agency that I had the pleasure of shadowing in the past, M-Squared PR is a tight-knit team of talented and ambitious ladies looking to make their mark within the hospitality, food and beverage, real estate, fashion, fitness and events industries (whew, that was a mouthful!). M-Squared is looking to grow their team with talented PR professionals and publicity interns, so why not reach out and say hello by visiting their site?
